magical girl bullshit, now with 50% more bad guys!

so... bad guys.

aside from the Evil Queen™, who I'm sure has something to do with something, idk
(I'm starting to rethink the princess deal, and therefore the status of the evil queen; more on that when I'm not in parentheses)
there are little baddies and big bads.

the little ones just scurry around and feed off of people like leeches, no harm, no foul
except that they grow as they feed
and eventually turn into big bads, who like
idk
kidnap children?
idk idk

anyway, I had this idea for the big bads that involved them having different forms based on what kind of negative emotions they consumed the most of?
like a little baddie that fed mostly off sadness would be a sad clown baddie when it grew up
or a little baddie that fed off of mainly anger would be a hulk mad baddie
obviously I now need to make a list of negative emotions.

sadness, anger, jealousy, guilt, hatred, fear, loneliness, shame, heartbreak, vengefulness.

that's ten, yay for nice round numbers. if I wanted, I guess I could just block it into fear/anger/sorrow, the basics? but I feel like things like jealousy, vengefulness, etc. wouldn't really fit into those broad categories, so no.

anyway, they'd have different characteristics — some might be fast, some slow, some with strong attacks or strong defense; some might only be killable with certain attacks, etc. I might try not to turn them into RPG monsters, but no promises. it's not like all their stats and dis/advs would make it into the story, anyway.

the little ones, idk, can probably be killed somehow, but Kaori doesn't know how, at least at the beginning. maybe it's her Raburabu Excalibur attack that does it, so she won't find out until after she figures out she loves Shun.

the big ones kill people and steal their Life Force™, or some shit. so obviously that's bad.

the big ones can probably also be, like. fused. with human beings? like they possess them, basically, and then they... ... lmao this sat here for like twenty minutes, obviously idk what they do.

moving on from that for the moment... there are also, like. sentient, non-monster bad guys, who are... probably working for an Evil Queen™. or should I bother subverting that trope and make it an Evil King™? idk. actually yes. I like Evil King™ better.

something about... the Evil King™ needs to gather Life Force™ from humans to, like. unlock his full power, which would allow he and his cronies to return to his dimension, which is obviously Not Here.

obviously our guardians need to be outnumbered, so let's give the Evil King™... eight henchmen, named after the seven deadly sins + one, because I like Vaingloria. in fact, Vaingloria can be his right-hand man.

spoiler: the guardians are not guarding a princess. they are guarding Tokyo. and yes, they are still reincarnations of the guardians of olde or whatever; this Evil King™ was like. idk, dormant for a while, and the struggle back then was to keep his henchmen from gathering enough Life Force™ to awaken him. they failed, and died, and some fifteen years later, the first reincarnation awakened her powers.

... now I'm really into the idea of the backstory on this, and the Guardians of Olde or whatever, and maybe even some creepy forbidden love between the Guardian of Heart and the Evil King™ oh my god, why do I exist

anyway

um, so that's a thing.

uh... I'm gonna go make another bios post for the baddies and add the Guardians of Olde to the other one.
